Incorrect Diesel Exhaust Fluid Quality Detected

Diesel Exhaust Fluid or Ad-Blue warnings are common among all Euro 6 vehicles but the JLR range seem to be particularly fussy. Wether is just that the Fluids Low, Quality is Incorrect or there is a Diesel Exhaust Fluid Dosing Malfunction we’ve seen them all and have the answers.

Don’t let the countdown get too low before resolving the issue as “No Engine Restarts Possible” means exactly what it says and you will need to get the vehicle recovered to a workshop to get the vehicle running again. The system can only be reset with proper diagnostic equipment.

Incorrect Diesel Exhaust Fluid Quality Detected

Despite what it says on the warning this very rarely means you have poor quality Ad-Blue in the tank. There is no special Ad-Blue just for Jaguars its all the same stuff wether its from the local supermarket or from the main dealer it will do the job just fine.

This warning usually means there is some kind of blockage/ failed component in the system stopping the Ad-Blue from making its way into the exhaust system.

Usually it is a case of replacing/cleaning a component on the system or even just a Simple Software Update.

The only way to diagnose this issue correctly is with proper diagnostic equipment like we have in our workshop.

Diesel Exhaust Fluid Dosing Malfunction

This is a more informative warning than the previously mentioned and essentially boils down to the same root cause. There is some kind of blockage/ failed component in the system stopping the Ad-Blue from making its way into the exhaust system.

Usually it is a case of replacing/cleaning a component on the system or even just a Simple Software Update.

The only way to diagnose this issue correctly is with proper diagnostic equipment like we have in our workshop.
