F-Type 3.0 V6, 450hp Upgrade, 200 Cell Cats & Coolant Y Pipe May 8 Written By Josh Mugglestone One of the most popular upgrades for the V6 F-Type is our 450hp Package. This involves a Lower Supercharger Pulley Upgrade and Remap, This customer also opted to have the Coolant Y-Pipe (which is known for splitting open) replaced at the same time, as well as 200 cell cat downpipes which unlock a little more potential from the engine in noise and power. Coolant Y-Pipes Old (left) vs New (right) The new upgraded design is manufactured all in one piece eliminating the possibility of it splitting open along the joint like on the old 2 piece design. Supercharger removal is required to access the coolant Y-Pipe, So we took the chance to upgrade the Supercharger Coupler at the same time. You can see the old spring loaded coupler on the left and new solid coupler on the right. The original design is known for breaking up and causing a rattling sound and in some cases even damages the coupler housing and connection pins. Larger Lower Supercharger Pulley and Belt provided by Paramount Performance This pulley is essential to drive the supercharger faster and allow the extra air flow needed to reach the 450hp goal. 200 Cell Cats vs the Original Cats The 200 cell cats provide much superior exhaust flow, increasing horsepower and enhancing overall exhaust sound.
